EverQuest Legends Update - 2026/8/18
UPDATE NOTIFICATION: Servers will come down on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, 06:00 AM PDT. Estimated downtime is 3 hours.
Mistmoore Castle Revamped
- Mistmoore Castle has received a major upgrade!
- In addition to named NPCs being guaranteed spawns, they now all have a guaranteed loot drop of a common or rare item with stat bonuses. While some of these items are familiar to explorers of the castle in years past, many are brand new. Some include exciting new effects ready for you to enjoy as they are or turn into exaltations.
- All named enemies in the zone have now also been designated as rare creatures, vastly increasing their chances of dropping motes of potential.
- Additionally, the residents of the main castle are now somewhat less aggressive and will not react to your presence from extreme ranges... during the daytime. Exploring the castle at night, however, will still be a harrowing affair once the castle denizens have shown their true forms.
Fractional UI Scaling & Cursor Scaling
- The UI Scaling system now supports fractional UI scaling in .25 increments, ranging from 0.75x to 4.00x.
- The Cursor now has its own scaling factor in the in-game Options (O).
- A toggle now exists in the in-game Options (O) to use the Operating System cursor, rather than the in-game cursor.
Group Experience Bonus
- Grouping will now give a small experience bonus as intended.
Gameplay
- Increased the melee combat potential of Beastlord Warders substantially.
- Fixed an issue where raid invites would fail in certain circumstances.
- Non-attackable NPCs can no longer multiclass.
- Address an issue where NPC corpses could continue walking even after they have died.
- Restored the original, Classic two-handed blunt animations to the game.
- You will no longer gain skillups from skills you haven't used when riposting.
- Creatures in the Plane of Fear and beyond should no longer fear or charm you so hard that you're unable to approach the game again for 24 hours.
- Fix for players getting charmed, and then shrunk by the pet scaling option in game.
- Addressed an issue where NPCs would continue attacking each other after charm fades.
- Fixed a bug where cleave wasn't working with 1HB weapons.
- Updated the messages that appear while being stunned to clarify that you are now immune and that you are currently immune on subsequent hits.
- Fixed an issue where zone-specific music tracks would skip over music tracks if environmental sounds were disabled.
- Fixed an issue where music would need to completely come to a stop before being able to resume the same track. The same track will now be able to resume the same sequence without having to fully have the track come to a stop.
Spells & AAs
- Targeted area effect lull spells, such as Harmony, can now take effect on NPCs you have not engaged in combat.
- Mounts that are obtained from AAs will now only grant the Mount speed when you are a valid class for using that AA.
- Fixed an issue where a long (5-10 sec) recovery cooldown would fire if you used the Stop Action keybind with a Bard as one of your classes.
- Fixed an issue where range checks on contact procs like Vampiric Embrace would not work properly on NPCs with large hit boxes.
- The Lifespike spell has been moved from level 8 to level 5 for Shadowknights.
- A new lifetap spell, Lifebite, has been added at level 10 for Shadowknights, and level 8 for Necromancers. This new spell has been added to the autogrant list for both classes, and to the appropriate spell vendors.
Zones & Population
- The Wasps/Bees of Plane of Sky have seen had their stingers filed down while charmed.
- The Wasp/Bee in Plane of Sky known as 'Murderbee' should be a bit easier to exterminate in solo instances.
- Shimmering Meteors have also had their damage tuned downwards while charmed.
- Snow no longer overwrites the zone's precipitation type, preventing rain from falling. Praise Karana.
- Rain is no longer too small to see.
- Many wild animals should now be friendly towards Kerran, similar to how they react to Rangers & Druids.
- Monsters should no longer try to patrol through walls in Runnyeye.
- Seplawishinl Bladeblight in the Ocean of Tears now has a considerably shorter respawn timer.
- Fixed an issue where high level named monsters in Kedge Keep were taking an excessively long time to respawn.
- Non-raid boss NPCs are now restricted from casting charm if they already have a pet.
Quests
- The Soldier's Brooch quest in Rathe Mountains will now allow the player to choose their reward.
- Updated the Torrid Corruptor final turn-in to properly grant the quest completion title to some players that do not meet the 'lore' requirements of the quest.
- Players are now given the corresponding Potential of the Void task when they enter a raid instance.
- Upon entering a raid instance, all other Potential of the Void tasks are removed from the task list.
Items
- Corrected an issue that allowed Player Illusions to be used as Pet Illusions.
- As a result of this change, we have added a Conversion button to Guise of the Deceiver and Amulet of Necropotence that allows these items to be turned into a Pet Illusion version.
- Bloodmoon now has the Focus Effect Improved Vampirism III.
- Fixed an issue preventing Armor Ornamentation Tokens from working when created from Cloth armor.

- The Unholy Steed, Holy Steed, Abyssal Steed, and Valiant Steed AAs will now summon bridles, which can be used to summon the mount, instead of directly summoning the mount.

- Added UI Scaling to the server selection screen.
- Fix an observed issue with spacing and scaling.

- Adjusted inventory AC and weight labels to not include erroneous spacing.
- Scaling now applies before character select so that the loading screen also scales properly.
- Fixed a Layout calculation bug that was causing the Actions window to produce graphical artifacts when shrinking the window vertically.
- On fresh installations of EverQuest Legends, a value for UI Scaling is now automatically detected and used.
- Changed UI Font Scaling to use dynamic re-rasterization.
- The map window should now be more compatible with UI Scaling.
- All context menus will now be fully kept on screen. This includes the spell list when you right click an empty gem.
- The Personal Instance window now properly shows respawning/non-respawning selections correctly.
- Fixed a display issue with the item inspection window that occurs after viewing an item that is convertible, such as the Gnoll Slayer item.
- A batch of new maps have arrived for the Maps window.
- Fixed a bug causing the Control Option 'momentary duck toggle' to not load its saved state.
- Added a new Options toggle in Interface->general to use the Actions/Spells window instead of the spellbook for the "Open Spellbook" keybind, and the Book Button on your spell bar.
